Christmas Presents in Dublin; or what I did during the holidaysPost by Andrea KirshAlbert Edelfelt (1854-1905)Conveying the Child’s Coffin (1879) oil on canvas, 120 x 204 cm, Ateneum Art Museum Central Art Archives / Hannu Aaltonen‘Northern Stars and Southern Lights: The Golden Age of Finnish Art 1870-1920’at the National Gallery of IrelandIn the visual arts the first Finns who come to mind are probably the architects Alvar Aalto and Eero Saarinen followed by a group of designers from the 1960s working for firms such as Marimekko, Ittala and Arabia, and more recently the video artist Elja-Lisa Ahtila and filmmaker Aki Kaurismaki. Yet the late 19th century is considered the golden age, when Finnish painters achieved recognition in Europe; they showed in Paris (at various salons from 1879 on, where they won medals, and in the 1900 International Exposition where they had their own pavilion), Berlin and Venice, where Akseli Gallen-Kallela had his own section in the 1914 Biennale. Since then the paintings have remained more or less sequestered in their homeland. The National Gallery, London purchased a wonderful landscape by Gallen-Kallela in 1999 (below) which certainly brought him to wider attention, but his first monographic exhibition beyond Scandanavia was in 2006. The first European retrospective of Helene Schjerfbeck’s work was in not until 2007 although the National Academy of Design in New York devoted a solo exhibition to her in 1992. The exhibition of 74 paintings and small selection of prints, Northern Stars and Southern Lights: The Golden Age of Finnish Art 1870-1920 at the National Gallery of Ireland (through Feb. 1, 2009) was a revelation and merits a wider audience. The work displayed a remarkable level of quality; a number of the painters were distinctive colorists and their work as a whole adds another chapter to the 19th-century attempt to forge an artistic culture in support of a nationalistic impulse (Finland was ruled by Sweden since the 13th Century and Russia since 1809, only achieving independence in 1917). The exhibition was also remarkable for the number of women represented: 7 out of 29. I can think of no place else during the 19th century where women were so much a part of the artistic scene.Akseli Gallen-Kallela (1865-1931) Lake Keitele (1905) oil on canvas, 53 x 66 cm., National Gallery, London. Some of the landscape paintings reflected environmental concerns (such as clear-cutting of forests) as well as nationalistic ones, as did paintings illustrating the national epic, the Kalevala. The Kalevala’s collection of folk poetry was only published in 1835, a couple decades after the Grimm brothers published German folk tales, but it became a central part of the invented narrative of Finnish identity. The exhibition included a significant group of Gallen-Kallela’s large Kalevala paintings, which are about as appealing to modern tastes as Remington’s Western fantasies or Paul Delaroche’s paintings of Joan of Arc. The exhibition was accompanied by a very good catalogue whose essays give a broad introduction to Finnish painting, most particularly Ville Lukkarinen’s on “Art and National Identity.” The catalogue is fully-illustrated and included a number of photographs of the artists, sometimes at work in studios or en pleine air, although the quality of the printing does not do justice to the paintings and placing the page numbers in the gutter makes it difficult to navigate. In Praise of Shadows at the Irish Museum of Modern ArtKudret Cevdet, Karagöz. These folk puppets formed the conceptual basis of the exhibitionIn Praise of Shadows at the Irish Museum of Modern Art (organized jointly with the Istanbul Museum of Modern Art and the Museum Benaki, Athens) is really three loosely-related exhibitions bundled together, and if I'm not convinced that the curator has truly justified their relationship to one another, they are interesting enough to ignore the loose ends.First is an exploration of in the popular shadow theater of Turkey known as Karagoz (which derives from Egyptian shadow theater which itself is probably indebted to the Javanese art form) and its influence on shadow puppetry in Greece. Karagoz involves stock characters and improvisation within a conventional format, much as do Punch and Judy shows. The Turkish form included scathing political referents, despite the usually repressive authoritarian rule. The exhibition included puppets and videos of their performances.Jockum Nordström, Things Are Beginning To Hum, 2006, Watercolor, graphite and collage on paper, 69.8 x 201 cm, Courtesy The Dakis Joannou Collection, AthensThe second section consists of two early film animators: the German Lotte Reininger, whose often Orientalizing feature-length narratives using shadow figures consciously drew from Turkish examples, and Ladislas Starewich, whose peripatetic career (in Lithuania, Russia and France) produced narrative films enacted by puppets of his own making. We were shown silhouettes, puppets and films.William Kentridge, still from Preparing the Flute Theatre, 2005, Video projection on wooden stage, 240 x 155 x 118 cm, Gandar Collection LtdWilliam Kentridge, still from Preparing the Flute Theatre, 2005, Video projection on wooden stage, 240 x 155 x 118 cm, Gandar Collection LtdThe third part of the exhibition featured eight contemporary artists who can most properly be connected not through an interest in shadow puppetry but rather through the common use of narrative created variously with silhouettes, puppets, drawn and painted imagery, all with a clearly hand-made emphasis. They not only reject the current use of computers in animation but also the sophisticated illusion of movement in early hand-drawn films. They all use conscious artifice to tell stories that function as metaphors, parables or dream-like inventions. They also toy with art forms associated with children to address subjects that are most decidedly , perhaps acknowledging Bruno Bettleheim’s suggestion that the original purpose of fairy tales was to introduce children to subjects such as cruelty, violence and uality. The artists are Haluk Akakce, Nathalie Djurberg, William Kentridge, Katariina Lillqvist, Jockum Nordstrom, Christina Soulou, Andrew Vickery and Kara Walker. If readers notice a certain overlap with The Puppet Show at the ICA, Philadelphia last year it is an indication of their very similar intentions.Haluk Akakçe, still from Garden, 2007, Single channel video, color with sound, 6' 34'', Courtesy Max Hetzler, BerlinPosted byAndrea Kirshat4:20 PM0commentsLinks to this post Labels:a gallen-kallela,andrew vickery, christina soulou, haluk akakce, jockum nordstrom, kara walker, katariina lillqvist, ladislas starewich, lotte reininger, nathalie djurberg, william kentridge

Department of clarificationPost by libbytextstoutpotNick Lenker, The text from his piece Always Remember Your Place.I wondered about the source of the text on Nick Lenker's urns (see my previous post on the show at Fleisher/Ollman). I even tried to Google it, in case the source was out there somewhere. Not that I really believe that. After all, the text is pretty much a perfect fit to the imagery, with suggestions of enslavement and powerlessness.textthinpotNick Lenker, the text from his piece Sacrifices Will be MadeSo I emailed Nick to get the scoop, and here's some of his answer:The text is all my own. I used to write a lot when I was younger and then stopped. I guess I'm revisiting it now. ...Here are some enlargements of the text for you. The titles of the pieces are in the text so you should be able to tell which corresponds to which. To see the images larger, click on the images and then click "All Sizes." New curator, new look, at Fleisher/OllmanPost by libbyIMG_9120 Nicholas LenkerNicholas Lenker, Sacrifices Will Be Made, 2008. clay, glaze, enamel, wood, metal. 16x8x8 inches"You Open so Late, You Close so Early" is Amy Adams first outing with the Fleisher/Ollman winter invitational, and although she is only one part of the curatorial team (see comment at end of post), there clearly is a difference.Previous shows were kind of like the show titles--daring you to figure out what the hell they meant, but invariably they showed you work you were really excited to see. In its place is a show that feels like it belongs in Fleisher/Ollman, for starters. For seconders, it feels like dead-on Philadelphia at its finest (most of the artists are Philly folks). In other words, there's more of an interest in pleasing here--and please it does. (I'm not saying I didn't love the exhibits that William Pym helped curate. But they were more uneven, with big surprises that sometimes were exciting and on target, sometimes were just unclear and uncooked).I'm having a little war within myself as I try to pick out my favorites in this year's emerging artists invitational. To put it another way, there was a lot in this exhibit that I loved. (If you think you already read this post, it's because Roberta wrote about it for the Weekly. But I couldn't deprive myself of writing about it, too).So here, in no particular order, are my top picks.IMG_9122 Nicholas LenkerNicholas Lenker, Always Remember Your Place, 2008. clay, glaze, luster; enamel, wood. 12x14x14 inchesNicholas Lenker, long a personal favorite, appears to have emerged from an identity crisis and is back mucking around in his natural medium--clay. But he's using some of the stuff he was doing in other media and making sense of it now.His Greek-oid trophy-like vases are top-notch wifty, weird, and beautiful, with humanimals, beasts, and exhortatory cryptic writings that have a medieval torture and mythic kind of tone. The Masons ain't got nothing on Nick when it comes to secret codes and rituals. The work is hell-fire and back again. Brrr. It gives me the chills.Unlike some of the work about to appear at the ICA in their upcoming show on clay, this doesn't have the exuberant juiciness of Betty Woodman, Robert Arneson or Kathy Butterly. Nor does it have the financial politics of Jane Irish's work, about to open at Locks. This is dark stuff that brings to mind funerary urns and museum displays and extreme Olympian athletes of ancient Greece. I thought it was great.IMG_9126 Shawn ThorntonSemiotics of the Alchemical Forest, 2004-2008, oil on panel, 11 x 11 inches (The four year stretch reflects Thornton's practice of going back in to each painting, over and over again.)Shawn Thornton, another long-held personal fave of mine, brings visionary obsession to his paintings on panel. It's Paul Laffoley on acid (oops, Laffoley also looks like he's on acid, but Shawn takes it way further) in a video game world in which all the layers are visible at once. Try to find your way and you're lost in Shawn's mental mandalas, which in part are a product of a tumor on his pineal gland and the therapy that ensued. Honest, you can't write stuff like this and get away with it! Some of the pieces have portraits in them (one's a self portrait) that remind me of Russian icons.IMG_9105 Josh RickardsJosh Rickards, My Dad if he Lived up North, 2008, acrylic, flashe & oil on paper, 36 x 36 inchesAnd speaking of icons, Josh Rickards' ultra-flat portraits with tumescent noses convey a lot without a lot of information. The deadpan plaid shirt of My Dad if he Lived up North, and the deadpan striped robe of Drug Rug are each just flat pattern on a generic shape. But the choices of information nail what Rickards is getting at. I want to relate these lumpy humans to the elegant Pop figures of Barkley Hendricks with those minimal backgrounds and fashion (or in Rickard's case, anti-fashion) sensibility.IMG_9109 Mark StocktonMark Stockton, Pete 1974, 2008, graphite on BFK Rives paper, 26 x 22 inchesAlso in the portraits realm, Mark Stockton's confrontational portraits of Patty Hearst (her mug shots), Pete Rose (holding his crotch) and a young, pumped-up, 8-foot tall drawing of Arnold Schwarzenegger in a body-building pose--they all combine beautiful drawing with a sort of Pop culture horror! Really, seeing the three in such ludicrous detail is simply chilling. The highlighting of the very thing they are each most unappealing for is a smart move--and a commentary on the celebrity circus. In the realm of sculpture, there's a surprising amount of wood. Steven and Billy Blaise Dufala's bunyanesque Sledge Hammer is similar to a piece they showed at their Fleisher Challenge, but this one takes the idea even further, and adds a touch of anti-macho commentary (at least that's how I read it). That same sly undercutting of macho extremes is personified in Long Chuck, an altered digital image of an endless sneaker. Both pieces out-Oldenburg Claes Oldenburg with a lot less bombast and a lot more material pleasure. The work carries a self-deprecating, boyish charm that might fool you into thinking that's all there is. Not so.IMG_9118 David Clayton David Clayton, When I Grow Up, 2007, plywood, grass paper, ABS plastic, silk flowers, 30 x 16 x 12 inchesWhile we're in the zone of boyish charm, David Clayton's models of Americana and space are first cousins to Nick Paparone's blow-up pickle in a box and his orbiting fried eggs in front of a digital print of space. At the other extreme, Charles Hobbs, who used to make models, surprised with ultra-crafted wood snakes and tree forms, all calling for a caress of the hand.IMG_9107 David ClaytonDavid Clayton, Neil Armstrong Dreams of Ohio, 2006, found object, pink foam, ceramic dry material, 8 x 14 x 20 inchesThe one woman in the show, C. Pazia Mannella, offered a sort of counterpoint to the Dufalas' Long Chuck fashion statement--a boa of multiple sewn-together zippers, displayed as a giant ruffle across the floor. Also in the exhibit, Jeremy Drummond's USA map, a bird's eye view of an "ex-urban development" for each state, and Alex Lukas' drawn-on prints of flooded cityscapes and other infrastructure disasters. Yikes! The end is near. All in all, a great show. It's up until Jan. 17!(I tried to use images that Roberta didn't use, so if you want to see more, check out her post, and also you can look at my Flickr set, as usual).Posted bylibbyat5:21 PM2commentsLinks to this post Labels:david clayton,fleisher/ollman gallery, josh rickards, mark stockton, nick lenker, shawn thornton, steven and billy blaise dufala

Seeing and Surveillance. (From artist to artists).Post by libby and robertaPost by Max MulhernDeborah StratmanDeborah Stratman, still from In Order Not to be Here, a video about surveillance that showed a year ago at Screening Video Gallery. (All photos by Libby, unless otherwise noted). Is the heightened state of surveillance in our world changing the way we see? I wonder because despite the exponential increase in the channels through which to diffuse art and talk about it my art seems to be increasingly invisible. Do other artists feel this way? Is there a corresponding blindness operating here as well?Deborah StratmanDeborah Stratman, still from In Order Not to be Here, a video about surveillance that showed a year ago at Screening Video GalleryI write from the most highly surveilled area of the world (London). There seems to be a new skin to everything now, a veneer of eyes, and yet artists still spend enormous amounts of energy trying to get themselves seen. Is that still the way to go?Yes! If you believe that you need to form a public image of yourself to your specifications that resists the dehumanizing CCTV phenomenon and counters popular culture. Otherwise, no!Ed with cameraArtist Ed Bronstein, taking a picture during a winery tour. We are forming our own spy network for our own lives!I believe that surveillance and the web are twins sharing an eye. Their eye is a Gorgon “the eye which eats”. The public now sees through the same eye thus creating a kind of compound eye with compounded hungers. These insatiable hungers creep. We hunger for privacy. We hunger for invasion of privacy as well, i.e. Facebook.Surveillance, Shaker styleSurveillance, Shaker style, in a Shaker meeting house in Kentucky. The elders would look down at the worshippers, looking among repeat visitors for recruits to their community. Here’s the twist. Privacy is a diminishing resource. Some IT scientists predict that by 2013 there won’t be any more privacy. The paroxysm of total visibility will be a paradox of invisibility combined with the total exposure of the self. Our nakedness will petrify us.Bryce Wolkowitz GalleryAt the Bryce Wolkowitz Gallery booth at a New York art fair in 2007, lots of electronic art, including Alan Rath eyes in center and Jim Campbell minimalist light show on left. This art does look back at you!“ . . . And red mutant eyes gazed down on hunger city . . .” I sang to myself as I looked up at the CCTV staring down at me. Should I have worn camouflage to the opening?Red_EyesRed mutant eye. Image taken from product pages of scenariodreams.comWhat I like most about looking at art now is that it doesn’t look back. It’s not processing me or storing anything about me. It can push my buttons but I can’t push its buttons. With objects becoming more and more « intelligent » the dumbness and deafness of art is a haven.2001monolithThe monolith from 2001, A Space Odyssey, image taken from fan site www.ohgizmo.comYet I feel a new force coming like an old timer can feel the weather in his bones. Objects and images are resonating with a new radio-like intensity such as the monolith in Kubrick’s film “2001”. Is this because everything is being talked about on the web? Or are objects and images now possessed with the will to speak while only now momentarily lacking the necessary tools to speak? Will objects usurp our sight? We have never seen more but we are losing sight. Scientists predict that humans will only be able to consecrate 80% of their attention at best to the world around them because of information overload. Does this mean that we will have to put less into our art in order not to overwhelm the spectator? Will this in turn fuel demand to see more work because there is always less to see per work?McDonald's_HamburgerMcDonald's hamburger (public domain photo). Where's the beef?We can’t measure the visual calories and nutrients of an image but there is a McDonald's effect going on here. Our eyes bloat but remain hungry and malnourished. But artist aren’t starving their work. Rather the eye’s demands are depleting the nutrients. The blog tool “feed” comes to mind. Your art and electro visual persona have to practically self-replicate in order to reach critical mass. This growth has a voracious appetite for sources of form and meaning and marauds the web and the world for sustenance. The art and the artist become as hungry as the eye it is trying to feed. Result? Blindness. Blindness, along with exhaustion, famine, loss of self and loss of self worth.Just recently Tyler Green mocked the LACMA website for asking its readers what they should be talking about on the site. This means that now art has to find a way to add value to its intrinsic value. In America that’s like adding a dime to every dollar in order to ensure that the dollar retains its original worth! What’s next, pegging art to a gold standard? At this point I am of two minds: One says: maintain a virtual image and stay in the loop. All artists are contributing to art history. Besides, its fun to keep abreast of and contribute to the ‘hood. The other says: pull a Ulysses and blind the eye. Feed the self and not the eye otherwise we artists may disappear.--Artist Max Mulhern, who has work up at Pageant Gallery right now (see post), last wrote for artblog about Richard Serra's supertankers in LondonPosted bylibby and robertaat3:08 PM1commentsLinks to this post Labels:alan rath, deborah stratman,ed bronstein, max mulhern, screening galleryOne thing I learned about ParisPost by robertaHall of MirrorsCrowd inside Versailles' Hall of Mirrors.Paris is a magnet for tourists over the holidays. Let me say that again in case you're planning a visit between Christmas and New Year's: Paris is so full of tourists over the holidays that you will spend hours in line to get into museums; you will be packed like sardines on the subways; you will elbow your way through stores and markets. It's the New York of Europe. But of course you will have a good time. And depending on your patience for your fellow humans you may have a great time.Little princess at Versailles gift shopLittle princess in yellow ball gown at Versailles gift shop.Max and I fell into line at Versailles one sparkling cold day last week. Among the various languages we overheard in our 50-minute wait was a lot of French. French families as tourists in their own museums shouldn't be a surprise nevertheless it felt surprising. Two French visitors were a mother and daughter--daughter dressed as a princess, her golden dress sweeping the paving stones under her wool coat. We ran into the princess later in the gift shop.Jeff Koons at VersaillesJeff Koons balloon sculpture at Versailles. I liked that you could get up close to this one. It works as a glass slipper lost at the ball. Mysterious and with a story embedded in it somewhere.Jeff Koons' art is featured through the palace and while it seems a great matchup -- the king of sunny, shiny kitsch in the Sun King's palace -- seeing the works inside the King and Queen's staterooms and the Hall of Mirrors was torture. The big rooms and medium sized sculptures were no match for the huge crowds. We moved in baby steps trapped by people all round us. I saw the tippy tops of some of the Koons' wares and kept on going. Jeff Koons silver bunnyJeff Koons' Silver Bunny balloon sculpture in a vitrine -- a mistake. It might be the vitrines were meant as a joke--how valuable is this really compared with what's in the room behind it?Many of the sculptures were in glass vitrines which completely destroyed their playfulness and beauty. I'm guessing that was done for security because I have seen the objects sans vitrines in other museums. Why some were allowed to stand alone and others weren't is mysterious. Jeff KoonsKoons' mirror reflecting back the Hall of Mirrors. The whole experience reminded me of how spoiled I am as a critic who is invited to see blockbuster shows at press previews where there is no crowd to speak of.  There's got to be a better way to handle crowds in spaces like these.  Timed tickets?  There was no attempt at crowd management and they really need it.Jeff Koons red balloon dogJeff Koons' Red Balloon Dog inside Versailles. Zagar undressedPost by libbyTrailer for Jeremiah Zagar's In a Dream, a documentary about his father, Isaiah Zagar, known for covering Philadelphia buildings with tile and mirror murals. One of my personal favorites covers the Painted Bride Art Center. The disturbing movie In a Dream, a documentary about Philadelphia folk artist icon Isaiah Zagar made by his son Jeremiah, is showing again in town this Friday at the Scribe Video Center. The movie was voted the Best Documentary at the 2008 Philadelphia Film Festival. The son and his camera interrupt the father in flagrante. The extra-marital affair, unveiled, has repercussions that make everyone uncomfortable. And that's not the only painful truth about the father that the son finds himself confronting.Anyway, I hear it's a pretty great film--plus it lays bare a local personality, giving him more texture than his own junk-sculpture garden on South Street that irritates some of the neighbors no end.Scribe Video Center4212 Chestnut Street7 p.m.tickets $5215 222 4201Posted bylibbyat2:06 PM0commentsLinks to this post Labels:isaiah zagar, jeremiah zagar

artblog goes to the movies--Slumdog MillionairePost by libbyJust had to share a little about Slumdog Millionaire. If your friends haven't already gotten you to go to this one, lemme give you my own reasons to see it. It's a visual treat--very beautifully filmed. And while it's basically the old story of a scrappy orphan who survives predatory s and other disasters to grow up into a modern-day version of success, it's an incredibly original take on it.The story-telling method and filming are done in a way I've never before seen on film. It reminds me of an interview I heard with Salman Rushdie, who was talking about how stories don't need to be told from beginning to end in chronological order, but could be told all kinds of rambling ways, just so long as the author keeps the story moving. The fractured storytelling, with flashbacks and flashforwards, is riveting.Best of all, the film is thoroughly contemporary with its depiction of television as a kind of myth-maker for society, bringing hope to the masses even as our hero seems dazed and surprised by what is happening to him. I'm not a watcher of reality shows (I can't stand them), but I get why people love them. This movie is really about how television works as a cultural phenomenon, mixing up celebrity as a value and as something and someone to be worshipped.I also found it interesting that the movies, which are less of a phenomenon than they used to be because of the tv in every home and even in every room, are telling the story of the power of their competition. Anyway, if you haven't seen Slumdog Millionaire, spend some money and go to the movies.Posted bylibbyat6:47 PM2commentsLinks to this post Labels:slumdog millionaireOlder Posts_qacct="p-8920b1QPslxE6";quantserve();QuantcasteXTReMe Trackervar colRotationTime = 7500;var howManyAdsToShow = 36;firstcol[0] = new Array('image','fallonandrosof.com/images/printcenterad.jpg','www.printcenter.org');firstcol[1] = new Array('image','fallonandrosof.com/images/galleryjoead.jpg','www.galleryjoe.com');firstcol[2] = new Array('text', 'PROJECTSGALLERY', 'www.projectsgallery.com');firstcol[3] = new Array('image','fallonandrosof.com/images4/fleisherad.jpg','www.fleisher.org'); firstcol[4] = new Array('image','fallonandrosof.com/images2/kleinad.gif','www.kleinartgallery.org');firstcol[5] = new Array('image','fallonandrosof.com/images4/fleisherollmanad2.gif','www.fleisher-ollmangallery.com');firstcol[6] = new Array('image','fallonandrosof.com/images2/915.jpg', 'www.915studios.com');firstcol[7] = new Array('image','fallonandrosof.com/ads08/pentimenti.jpg','www.pentimenti.com');firstcol[8] = new Array('image','fallonandrosof.com/images/spectorlogo.jpg', 'www.artjaw.com'); firstcol[9] = new Array('image','fallonandrosof.com/images2/gallery339ad.jpg','www.gallery339.com/html/home.asp');firstcol[10] = new Array('image','fallonandrosof.com/images/3rdstreetgalleryad.jpg','www.3rdstreetgallery.com');firstcol[11] = new Array('image','fallonandrosof.com/images4/phillyfunad2.gif','www.phillyfunguide.com/category.php?id=1'); firstcol[12] = new Array('text', 'artblogad rates','www.fallonandrosof.com/adrates.html'); firstcol[13] = new Array('image','fallonandrosof.com/images2/uartsnow.jpg', 'www.uarts.edu'); firstcol[14] = new Array('image','fallonandrosof.com/images07ads/artsleague80px.jpg','www.ucartsleague.org'); firstcol[15] = new Array('image','fallonandrosof.com/images4/abingtonartcenterad.jpg','www.abingtonartcenter.org/'); firstcol[16] = new Array('image','fallonandrosof.com/images07ads/artafter5.gif','www.philamuseum.org/artafter5/?utm_source=ArtBlog&utm_medium=banner&utm_content=ArtAfter5&utm_campaign=ArtAfter5.com/');firstcol[17] = new Array('image','fallonandrosof.com/images07ads/barnesinphiladelphia.jpg','www.fallonandrosof.com/barnesforweb.html');firstcol[18] = new Array('image','fallonandrosof.com/images07ads/plotnick80x80.gif','www.walterplotnick.com/');firstcol[19] = new Array('image','fallonandrosof.com/images07ads/inliquid-logo-blue-nb.gif','www.inliquid.com/');firstcol[20] = new Array('image','fallonandrosof.com/ads08/snyderman.jpg','www.snyderman-works.com/');firstcol[21] = new Array('image','fallonandrosof.com/images07ads/library80px.jpg','www.friendsofpix.org/');firstcol[22] = new Array('image','fallonandrosof.com/ads08/trinityframing80px.jpg','www.trinityframing.com/');firstcol[23] = new Array('image','fallonandrosof.com/ads08/TCS%20button%5B2%5D.jpg','www.theclaystudio.org');firstcol[24] = new Array('image','fallonandrosof.com/ads08/crane_80x80_artblog.gif','cranearts.com');firstcol[25] = new Array('image','fallonandrosof.com/ads08/Leeway.jpg','leeway.org/');firstcol[26] = new Array('image','fallonandrosof.com/ads08/moore.jpg','thegalleriesatmoore.org');firstcol[27] = new Array('image','fallonandrosof.com/ads08/dolan.jpeg','dolanmaxwell.com');firstcol[28] = new Array('image','fallonandrosof.com/ads08/CEREALART.jpg','cerealart.com');firstcol[29] = new Array('image','fallonandrosof.com/ads08/tabulastudio.gif','tabulastudio.com/');firstcol[30] = new Array('image','fallonandrosof.com/ads08/octostudio.jpg','octostudio.com/');firstcol[31] = new Array('image','fallonandrosof.com/ads08/blog-ad3.jpg','beanettles.com/');firstcol[32] = new Array('image','fallonandrosof.com/ads08/ICOMamat.JPG','camera-obscura-lucida-shop.com/'); //
